At GV Cosmetics we offer treatments that are designed to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. With prolonged use of facial muscles they can get stronger, longer and deeper. Treatment offered may help soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles and create a more refreshed, relaxed facial appearance, preventing them becoming prominent and making you look worried or even angry. 

Prior to any treatment, a consultation will take place where you discuss your problem areas and together if suitable for treatment we work out a suitable plan of care. You will be given a honest assessment and be made aware of the likely expectation of treatment, the cost , the process , the likely onset of treatment and the expected length of time this temporary treatment will last.

It is expected that you may feel slight discomfort as the needle is inserted and the muscle relaxant is excreted in the muscle but this is very brief and bearable.

All treatments affect people differently, results will vary often according to dose, age, strength of muscle and many other factors. Your practitioner will discuss a realistic expectation for your face , bearing in mind what you would like to change or modify and what is achievable with the treatments.

As we age the natural progression of our mouth area is to pull on the corners of our mouth. Elevating the  muscles around the mouth and jawline create a less droopy and sad face appearance . 

The aim of treating the lower face is prevention, its subtle and rejuvenating. 

Some common treatment areas:

• Gummy smile, we treat the elevator muscle of the upper lip causing it to relax
• Lip flip, we treat the a small area of the orbicularis oris muscle .Relaxing tension in this muscle can allow the lip to flip upwards, creating a poutier look
• Chin dimples (Mentalis) which can cause the chin to draw in.
• Sharpen jaw lines by relaxing the platysmas and platysmas bands leaving a more youth relaxed look.
