As with most treatment there can be some side effects that are temporary and mild . You can expect some pain , redness, slight swelling , some occasional bruising . In very rare cases there is a very small change some of the liquid being injected into the vascular systema and occluding the vessel . This is a medical emergency and you will need to contact the practitioner ASAP. 

As with all treatment that are classified as high risk there can be some potential side effects.

Everyone is different and so may be the side effects. 

Some people experience discomfort when the treatment is happening . This varies for each person. The area can be numbed with a topical cream if you feel discomfort or would prefer and once treatment is complete there is minimal evidence of any procedure had. 

You can realistically expect a bruise with most treatments

Slight redness and swelling at the injection site

There is a slight potential to develop an infection at the injection site that will require Antibiotics

As the purpose of treatment is to relax muscles the field of effect may weaken surrounding muscles which can cause a temporary drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow or smile asymmetry. These rare complications may last somewhere between 2-6 weeks’ post treatment.  

It is quite common for people to experience mild to moderate discomfort during and after these treatments. Your practitioner will discuss specific treatments and potential discomfort and length of time this is likely to be felt with each treatment.

Following these treatment it is expected that there will be some swelling either immediately or within the next few days that may last a week or 2. .

You can realistically expect a bruise with most treatment or you may be lucky and not bruise.

Slight redness and swelling at the injection site

There is a slight potential to develop an infection at the injection site that will require Antibiotics.

Another more serious side effect is anaphylaxis. This is very uncommon but it can occur in some people.

The greatest and most sever complication is a vascular occlusion. This occurs when the medication is accidently injected into the artery blocking its blood supply and with a serious complication of causing blindness. As mentioned this is very rare but nonetheless it is a medical emergency and needs to be treated straight away. It may occur initially or up to 5 days post treatment.
